Timothy J. McCarthy, 57

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Timothy J. McCarthy, age 57, most recently of North Attleboro, formerly of Mansfield and Mission Hill passed away peacefully, surrounded by his devoted family on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.

Born in Boston, MA on November 29, 1965, he was a loving son of the late Lillian S. (Regan) McCarthy and the late Michael W. McCarthy, who is survived by his wife Marylou McCarthy of North Attleboro.

Timmy spent his early childhood living in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston where he also returned to spend many happy summers. In 1969, his family moved to Mansfield where he grew up and was educated in Mansfield Schools. Tim was a hard worker and for the past twenty-nine years was employed as a cement finisher for the Boston Plasterers and Cement Masons Union Local 534.

Timmy’s family and friends were truly the focal point of his life, especially the times spent with his cherished nieces and nephews. Friends would always speak of him as being one of a kind, having the biggest heart of gold and a laughter which was infectious. Proud of his Irish heritage, the memories he created in life will live on forever in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him. Although always an avid New England sports fan, Tim’s heart was always for the Miami Dolphins.

He was the beloved brother of Michael W. McCarthy and his wife Janet of Cotuit, Christine M. Campbell and her husband Scott of Norton, Sean B. McCarthy and his wife Maureen of Norton and Kara J. Mason of Norwood and her former husband Mark Mason of Attleboro. He was the much-loved uncle of Brooke, Bryan, Amelia, Hannah, Brenna, Brody, Jake, Izabella and is also survived by his loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday, March 18th at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Mass on Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30 A.M.at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

In lieu of flower’s Timothy’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to Our Daily Bread ~ Mansfield Food Pantry, 15A West Street, Mansfield, MA 02048 or the simple act of a kind gesture to others.
