Obituary

David K. White, 61, of Greenwood passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at St Francis Hospital – Indianapolis following a brief illness.

He was born on May 19, 1961 in Anderson, to David P. and Nancy S (Keith) White. He graduated from Anderson High School class of 1979, Ball State University in 1984 with his Bachelor’s in Environmental Sciences and Butler University in 1987 with another Bachelor’s in Legal Studies.
David was a Housing inspector at the Marion County Health Department from 1984 – 1988 and a Senior Environmental Manager for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management from 1988 to 2009, when he retired.
David is survived by his husband of 23 years, Ryan (Capps) White of Greenwood; his mother, Nancy (Keith) White of Yorktown; three siblings, Elizabeth Garrett (husband, James) of Yorktown; Scott White (wife, Bonnie) of Indianapolis; and Gregory White of Muncie; three nephews; Matthew Garrett (wife, Kalie); Benjamin Garrett (wife, Savannah); Liam White; one niece, Lora Black (husband, Andrew); one great nephew, Emmitt; two great nieces, Elliot and Regan; several aunts, uncles, cousins and lots of special friends. David was preceded in death by his father, David P. White.
David was an advocate for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation after being diagnosed in 2009 to this crippling disease. But that did not stop him, David volunteered with the Miss Indiana Organization as an executive director of the Miss South Central Scholarship Program with his husband Ryan for over 20 years. He loved spending time with his cousins and mom playing canasta. David enjoyed traveling the United States, the Caribbean and over to Europe. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. David was an organ donor.
Memorial contributions may be made directly to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
Visitation will be at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, Anderson on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 3 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.
Funeral service will be Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 2 p.m. with Pastor James Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
