Carol A. (Forest) Antunes, age 82, passed away on February 20, 2023 at the Heritage Hall South Nursing Home in Agawam. She was born on February 4, 1941 in Holyoke and has been a lifelong resident. Carol was daughter to the late Charles and Julia (Lebac) Forest. She was a communicant of the former Mater Delarosa Parish and most recently of Immaculate Conception Parish. She worked as a waitress for many years before she retired. Carol was a member of the Dominican Nuns and was very devoted to her faith. She loved all animals, but especially enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels. She is survived by her two sons, Joe Salem and his wife Laura Pantoja of Holyoke and Shawn Antunes of Enfield, CT; her step children, Aaron, Phyllis, Diane and Sharon Antunes; one brother Kenneth Forest and his wife Genevieve of Holyoke; three grandchildren, Shawn Antunes Jr, Rya Antunes and Joseph Salem Jr; two great grandchildren, Atlas and Nova; her beloved cat Angel, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 54 N Summer St, Holyoke. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
