Obituary

DAYTON- Patrick Jon Perseille, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 22, 2023, at Maine Medical Center with his family and close friends by his side, following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Glendora, CA on Sept. 20, 1963, a son of the late Morton and Allison (Heffren) Perseille. In 1968, his family moved to Hollis, Maine where he grew up enjoying the great outdoors, specifically hunting, fishing and snowshoeing. He built friendships that lasted throughout his childhood and into his adult lifetime. Pat loved basketball and football, and was a huge New England fan.
He graduated from Bonny Eagle High School in 1981 and enlisted in the United States Coast Guard for 27 years. As the Chief of the Boat (COB), he strived to develop young recruits into fully functioning sailors in service of their country. Everyone who knew Pat will remember him as a proud patriot. Pat retired as a Telecommunications Specialist, Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2008, and became a civilian contractor for three years for the Coast Guard performing many of the tasks he performed while on active duty. He also spent 12 years as a Federal/Civilian GS Employee for the Coast Guard.
His greatest love was his family. Whether it was spending time with his children or being the auctioneer at his family reunion, being a family man defined him. He loved the next adventure, travelling with his beloved wife Rhonda throughout the country was one of his greatest joys.
Besides his parents, Pat is predeceased by a brother- Kerry. He is survived by his beloved wife- Rhonda (Neal) Phillips-Perseille; children- Tina Smith, her husband Evan, and grandson Teddy, Amber Phillips, and Nick Phillips; siblings- Sharon and Dennis; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and brothers for life- Tom, Eric, Dave, Stephen, Brian and Mike to name just a few.
Pat is missed by all who knew him for the kindness of his heart touched everyone he met.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Sunday April 2nd from noon to 4 PM at the Italian Heritage Center, 40 Westland Ave., Portland.
