Obituary

Lakeland, FL – James Morrow Sr., 89, of Lakeland, FL and formerly of Worcester passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 in the Lakeland Regional Health Center.

Mr. Morrow is survived by his wife Tracy (Boudreau) Morrow; two sons, James Morrow Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Lakeland, FL and Tyler Boudreau and his wife, Marie of Lakeland, FL; a son in law, Leo Soulor of Lakeland, FL; two brothers, Robert Morrow and his wife, Vanessa of Lakeland, FL and Peter Morrow of Austin, TX; a sister, Betty Luparelli and her husband, Ted of Lakeland, FL; 8 grandchildren, Todd, Timothy, Travis, Tina, James, Krishna, David and Griffin; 19 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Jimmy was born in Worcester, son of the late Wendell and Rowena (Spencer) Morrow and is also predeceased by a daughter, Denise Soulor and four brothers and sisters, Shirley Guertin, Pamela Reidl, Madeline Ducharme and Forrest Morrow.

He was the owner and operator of Guertin’s Café in Worcester for over 40 years before his retirement. While owning the café, he took great pride in helping others in the community, he would open the café and serve dinners to those in need on many occasions but especially on holidays, like Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. There were countless fundraisers held from the café to support the many local charities that were close to his heart.

He was a season ticket holder to the New England Patriots for over 30 years with his best friend, Donald Wood who passed away on January 31, 2023. There was nothing Jimmy enjoyed more than sitting on his front porch of his Florida home in his rocking chair and smoking a good cigar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 25, at 12:30 PM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Worcester. Calling hours will be held from 10:30 to 12 Noon in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester, prior to his funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to the South Worcester Neighborhood Center 47 Camp St. Worcester, MA 01603.
