PEABODY - Gloria P. (Lamontagne) Stone, 64, of Peabody, wife of Gordon F. Stone, died Saturday evening, June 3, 2006 at the Kindred Hospital North Shore, Peabody following a long illness.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Leopold and Antoinette (Demeule) Lamontagne.
Prior to her retirement due to illness, she was employed in corporate food service for many years, working all areas of the business from food prep to management.
A resident of Peabody for the past 8 years, she previously lived in New Hampshire for 10 years and was a resident of Beverly for many years prior. Mrs. Stone’s hobbies included arts and crafts and she was especially fond of floral arranging and working with dried flowers.
Besides her husband, with whom she shared over 45 years of marriage, she is survived by 1 son and daughter-in-law, Thomas M. & Danette Stone of Midlothian, VA, 1 daughter, Barbara A. Hunt of Peabody, 4 grandchildren, Kasey Stone and Jarret Stone of Virginia, Danyle Hunt and Lea Hunt of Peabody, 2 step-grandchildren, Chase & Dakota Thistle of Virginia, 2 brothers & sisters-in-law, Armand & Paulette Lamontagne of Belleview FL, Donald & Barbara Lamontagne of Leakey, Texas, one sister & brother-in-law, Jacqueline & Edward Gauthier of North Hampton, NH, several cousins, including Beth Williamson of Gloucester, whom Gloria looked upon as a daughter, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Claudette Ann Lamontagne.
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at 1 pm in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A visitation will be held Tuesday, prior to the service, from Noon to 1 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial is in North Beverly Cemetery, Beverly.
