Obituary

Mr. Richard M. Bizzarro, a resident of Parrish, Florida, formerly of Medford and beloved husband of Miriam D. (Jackson) Bizzarro, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 16, 2023. He was 86 years old.

Born in Everett, Massachusetts, on July 10, 1936, he was the beloved son of the late Anthony and Nora R. (Kelley) Bizzarro. Mr. Bizzaro was a US ARMY Career veteran with more than 27 years of service. A very decorated veteran, Mr. Bizzarro attained the rank of Major and was awarded the Purple Heart for both campaigns in the Viet Nam theater, Army Commendation medal with the Firs Oak Leaf Cluster, the Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Honor Medal, the Bronze Star Medal with Third Oak Leaf Cluster, the Good Conduct Medal with Second Award, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Air Medal Driver Badge, Four Overseas Service Bars, the Presidential Unit Citation, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Meritorious Service Medal, to name a few.

In his spare time, Richard enjoyed antiquing, skiing, sailing and camping. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his beloved wife, Miriam, Richard is survived by his loving children; Cathy and her husband Peter Kongta of Spiro, Oklahoma, Richard Bizzarro, Jr. and his wife Claudia Bizzarro of Lawton, Oklahoma, Margaret Tiddark of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Andrea Connor of Kansas City, KS. Brother John J. Corbett of Owensboro, KY, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard was also the loving father of the late Giancarlo Bizzarro.

His funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
