Mr. Gerald L. “Jerry” Banks, Jr., a longtime resident of Medford and beloved husband of Sandra A. (Nicoli) Banks, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Thursday morning, February 16, 2023. He was 81 years old.
Born in Woburn, Massachusetts, on August 4, 1941, he was the beloved son of the late Gerald L., Sr. and Alice (Foster) Banks. Jerry was a Sales Clerk for Ford Auto Parts, for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and eating out. He was very active in the St. Raphael Church Food Pantry. Jerry also loved to visit Cape May, New Jersey with his beloved wife, Sandra. Above all, Jerry was a devoted husband and father. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, Sandra, Jerry is survived by his loving children; Dawn L. Banks and her partner Virginia J.A. Santens of Scottsdale, Arizona and Mark A. and his wife Tricia A. Banks of Medford and brothers-in-law; John Nicoli and his partner Steven Sullivan of California and Warren Nicoli and his husband Fred Huntwork of Nantasket and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Monday, February 20, 2023, at 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023, from 3 to 7 PM. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
