CHARLTON – Jan Wierbik, 79, died Tuesday, February 14, 2023 in Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Urszula (Sprengel) Wierbik; a daughter, Teresa Kopec and her husband Marek of Oxford; a son, Adam Wierbik and his wife Marzena of Dudley; 4 grandchildren, Alexander and Angelica Kopec, and Felix and Emma Wierbik; nephews and nieces. He was preceded In death by his brother Ryszard.
He was born on February 17, 1943 in Poland, the son of Stanislaw and Janina (Szlyk) Wierbik. He earned a master’s degree in engineering from Gdansk Polytechnical Institute. He moved to Worcester in 1987 and lived in Charlton since 2017.
His funeral will be held Saturday, February 18, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, February 17, in the funeral home.
