Donald R. ‘Eggy’ 'Donaad' Paré, 79, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband to Judene ‘Judy’ (Stauffer) Paré for the past thirty nine years.
Born December 3, 1943, to Aime A. Pare of Drumonville, Province of Quebec, Canada and Eva J. (Roucher) Paré of Lowell in the family home on Branch Street, and lived his whole life in Lowell, the City he loved. Donald attended the now closed Notre Dame de Lourdes School from Kindergarten through part of seventh grade. He then transferred to the James S. Daily Jr. High School where he completed the ninth grade as Class President in 1960.
Donald left school to go to work at Wakefield Industries/Symphonic Corporation to assist the family financially by working. There he met his lifelong friends, Ruthie Oleson and her husband, Charlie and their family with whom he to this day enjoys a long lasting friendship.
In 1964, Donald entered the Army National Guard branch in Lowell. Upon his return from basic training he continued working for Wakefield Industries/Symphonic Corporation until 1967, while continuing with the National Guard. He then moved on to work for the H.P. Hood Milk Company starting first in the Lowell Plant and eventually moving to the Charlestown MA plant, from which he retired on May 3rd, 1996, with 29 years of service.
After obtaining his GED through the Lowell Skills Center, Donald worked for fourteen years at the Paul E. Tsongas Arena as their fork lift driver, where he found his greatest enjoyment operating the spotlight for the AHL and collegiate hockey teams as well as preparing the arena’s various entertainment shows. In 2012, Donald Officially retired from the Tsongas Arena and ended his working life.
He had many hobbies which he loved and devoted much of his time to including Citizen Band Radio, his REACT Team, watching the local sports teams like the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and his favorite team, the New England Patriots, and the hobby he loved the most was anything to do with food and food preparation. He also enjoyed fire chasing and watching and then discussing the many, many, fires which have taken place in the Lowell, Lawrence, and surrounding areas. He always said, ‘I missed my calling to become a firefighter!’.
Donald's biggest asset in his life was his big heart. That is where he held family and friends. Donald was always willing to help those in need, never expecting anything in return. He cherished being a ‘Brother’, ‘Uncle’, ‘Great Uncle’, and ‘God Father’ to his many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his beloved wife, Judy, he is survived his sisters, Theresa E. Paré Larochelle of Lowell, and Elaine S. Paré Marco and her husband,, Charles, of Pepperell; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, and many lifelong friends.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Albert A. Paré, Roger G. Paré , Leo A. Paré, and Eugene ‘Gino’ A. Paré, and his sister Pauline J. Paré Rousseau.

On Thursday, February 16, all are invited to his calling hours 3 until 7 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell.
His funeral will begin on Friday morning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home; his funeral mass will be offered at ST. MARGARET OF SCOTLAND PARISH, 374 Stevens Street, Lowell at 10 am.. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
