Anna Prohodsky, age 101, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 10, 2023.
Born in Mansfield, MA on October 8, 1921, she was a loving daughter of the late Nicholas and Olga (Nekrashevich) Prohodsky.
When younger, Anna grew up and lived on “Old Glory Farm” in Mansfield. She was educated in Mansfield Schools and was a 1939 graduate of Mansfield High School. For thirty-three years she had been employed as a Clerical Worker at the Foxboro Company, retiring in 1986.
Anna was well-known in the Mansfield Community where she was actively involved as a member of the Mansfield Congregational Church, the Mansfield Council on Aging, the Mansfield Historical Society, the National Resources Trust of Mansfield and the Puddle Ducks Walking Club.
Anna especially enjoyed spending time with her much-loved family and neighbors. She always stayed up on and supported Mansfield community events and her hobbies included gardening and sharing the wealth of her harvest with others. She was a true New Englander and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by several generations of loving nieces and nephews. She was the dear sister of the late Mary Casey, Frank Prohodsky, Nina Collingwood, Helen Prohodsky and Michael Prohodsky.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, February 14th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. Burial will follow at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.
Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Anna with a donation in her memory made to the Memorial Fund of the Mansfield Congregational Church, 17 West Street, Mansfield.
