In Taunton, Barbara Jean Hudson, age 74, passed away at home peacefully on February 5, 2023 while surrounded by her loving family. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband Richard Hudson of Taunton. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Richmond Horton and Mildred (Lyon) Horton.
Barbara had resided most of her life in Taunton, She was educated in Taunton schools and worked at the former, Swank Company in Taunton. Barbara loved horses, owning and caring for them her entire life, she showed them and loved riding them in the Taunton parades. She enjoyed being outdoors, going out to eat, which included always eating your dessert first, going for long rides and sightseeing with her husband, and above all cherished her time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband Richard, Barbara leaves her daughter April Moitoza of Taunton, her granddaughters, Krystal Dion of Taunton and Victoria Dion of Taunton, and her great granddaughter Aria Mendes of Taunton, and her sister Helen Smith of Jamestown, RI and her late brother Russell Horton.
Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Monday, February 13th from 5-7 pm. Her burial will be at a later date.
