TEWKSBURY: Joyce A. (Cannon) Polcaro, age 82, a resident of Tewksbury for 57 years, passed away at home in the care of her family and hospice on Sunday, February 5, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of Robert C. Polcaro, Sr., who passed away May 25, 2016.
Born in New Bedford on September 29, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Paul V. Cannon and the late Norma P. (Fratus) Cannon.
Joyce was raised in Newton and graduated from Newton North High School.
In 1965, she and her late husband moved to Tewksbury, where they raised their four children.
For the past 29 years, Joyce served as President of PC Trucking, Inc. of Tewksbury.
She was a longtime breeder of Persian cats and was a member and numerous award recipient from C.F.A. (Cat Fancier Association).
Joyce is survived by her four children, Robert C. Polcaro, Jr., of Tewksbury, Marlene C. Polcaro, of Dexter, ME, Sandra M. Polcaro and her husband Matthew Peaslee, of Hubbardston, and Richard W. Polcaro and his wife Anne Marie (Byrd), of Tewksbury: nine grandchildren, Robert, Cassandra, Brittany, Crissy, Michael, Melissa, Kathy, Erica, and Kevin: seventeen great grandchildren, including her great granddaughter, Tabitha. She was the sister of Paul V. Cannon, of Newton, and Donna McNeil and her husband David, of Brewer, ME.
She leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Calling hours are Thursday, February 9th, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin on Friday, February 10th, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury.
