Obituary

Charles Denis Capistran, 60, died on February 5, 2023 following a brief illness at Catholic Medical Center.

He was born in Manchester on September 21, 1962, the son of the late Judge Armand Capistran and Cecile (Richard) Capistran.

He was the third generation owner of Julien Richard Oil Company following in his grandfather, Julien Richard and Uncle, Charles Richard’s footsteps. This year marked his 47th winter serving his customers with pride.

Charlie would want to be remembered as a generous, thoughtful and honest man. He was most proud of his French Canadian heritage and was a member of Club Richelieu.

He had a thorough knowledge of Manchester history, and appreciation of sports. A diehard Yankee fan, Charlie, spent many weekends in the Bronx with his son, Luke (deceased 2011) cheering on the bombers as they won multiple world series.

His family and friends will always cherish his quick wit and unique sense of humor; the nicknames he had for us will never be forgotten.

Family members include wife Deborah (Sullivan) Capistran of Manchester; three daughters; Kate, Maeve, and Paige Capistran of Manchester, siblings Conrad Capistran of East Hampton, MA, Celeste (Greg) Ciesla of Villa Park, IL, Richard (Lesley) Capistran of Derry, NH and cousins, nieces and nephews.

A faithful Catholic, Charlie, has been reunited with Luke to live in eternity with Christ.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
