Obituary

SPENCER: Ruth M. (Pakkala) Lammi,97, of Martin Rd., died Monday, Jan. 30th at Blair House, Worcester.
Her husband of 72 years, Reino A. Lammi, died in 2019. She leaves her sons; Mark S. Lammi and his wife Mary of Spencer and Craig J. Lammi and his wife Denise of E.Brookfield, 7 grandchildren; Stephen, Sean, Eric, Elizabeth and Michael Lammi, Damar Trenchfield and Elijah Lammi, 2 great grandchildren; twins, Juniper Rose and Finn, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters; Sylvia Scala and Irene Lindquist.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of John M. and Enni (Lateo) Pakkala and later graduated from the former Commerce High School in Worcester.
Ruth was a clerk at the former Spencer Gas & Electric Co. many years ago. She also was the clerk for the Spencer District Nurse Association. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Spencer, sang in its choir for 35 years, was their Treasurer, member of the Pastoral Relations Committee and worked in the Economy Shop. She was a member of the Bay Path Senior Bowling League in E.Brookfield. She and her husband were avid campers and a longtime member of the Good SAMS camping association.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb.16th. at 11 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer. A calling hour will precede the services on Thursday (Feb. 16) from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sovittaja Finnish Club, 43 Finn Park Rd., Rutland, MA 01543.
