Phyllis (McNamara) Sisson, age 85, passed away on January 31, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born on June 14, 1937 in Chicopee, daughter of the late Reginald and Gertrude (Macklin) McNamara. Phyllis worked various jobs, but her most important role was that of housewife and mother. She had recently been helping at The McKinstry Market Garden in Chicopee. She was a very devoted member The First Congregational Church in Chicopee and found her volunteer work with Breaking Bread with the Community and Regina’s Food Pantry, at her church, to be very rewarding. She is predeceased by her husband Norman Sisson who passed away in 2021; 3 brothers, Robert, Richard and Ralph McNamara; her sisters, Shirley Toper and Marjorie Fontaine and 2 grandchildren, Krista Leven and Katrina Gendreau. She is survived by her son Glenn Sisson of Chicopee; 2 daughters, Joy Flowers and her husband Eugene of Chicopee and Kim Sisson-DiBacco and her husband Michael of Chicopee; 4 grandchildren, Richard Gendreau, and his wife Susan, Eric Boisvere, Matthew Boisvere and Hannah Flowers; and 3 great grandchildren, Kristina, Ella and Lorenzo. She also leaves her dear friend Nicole McKinstry, her minister, Rev. Gary Grimes and all her church family. It was Phyllis's wish that any memorial tributes be made to The First Congregational Church, 306 Chicopee St, Chicopee, MA 01013. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Funeral will take place on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM in the First Congregational Church, 306 Chicopee, St, Chicopee.
