Obituary

James F. Holmes “Jim”, 82 of Franklin, MA passed away peacefully in his home Tuesday January 31st after battling COPD and Lung Cancer.

Born March 13, 1940 in Holden, MA to the late John Holmes and Ella Holmes (Siart). Jim grew up in Holden, MA and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1958. He went on to serve 4 years in the Navy on the USS Lake Champlain, CVS 39.

The 4 years Jim spent in the Navy helped turn him into the hard-working man we all knew. There wasn’t anything he could not do. Jim spent most of his career as a Body Shop Assembler at the Framingham General Motors Plant in which he retired in 1989. He was also the owner of Franklin Aquarium that was located in downtown Franklin, MA.

Jim had many hobbies and was an avid sports fan. Whether it was going to the Nascar races or just staying home and watching The Patriots, Celtics, Bruins or The Red Sox, he enjoyed all of it. Jim also had a love for the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, boating, and most of all riding his Harley Davidson.

Jim is survived by his 4 Children Jeffrey Holmes of Franklin, Mark Holmes of Franklin, Micah Holmes of Franklin, Shalom Holmes of Franklin and his little dog Bella. He also leaves behind his 4 grandchildren Madison, Christian, Avery, and Sophia, as well as his previous wives Cynthia McEwan and Janice Malouin.

Jim was the brother of the Late Jon Holmes of Holden, MA, Harry and Janie Holmes of Montgomery Alabama, and Alan and Claudia Creamer of Diamondhead, MS.

Interment at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA. will be held privately at a later date with immediate family.

In Lieu of Flowers donations in his memory may be sent to the American Lung Association.
