Obituary



Louis (Lou) Lavigne, 83, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023 after a period of declining health with his family at his side. Born to Henry and Pauline (Roberge) Lavigne, Lou graduated from Bishop Bradley High School, Manchester, NH. After graduation, he entered the Navy as a submariner and received his Associates Degree from UNH. For many years, Lou was employed in banking with First NH Bank (formerly Merchants National Bank) followed by many mortgage companies, most recently with Guardian Mortgage. Lou was a long-time member of the Executive Club and of Intervale Country Club. He enjoyed playing golf and racquetball, basking in the sunshine and the companionship of all animals.

Lou adored his wife, children, grandchildren and his great grandchildren. Pepere loved to cheer on his grandkids at their various sporting events. His greatest joy was spending time with the family at his lake house. Lou was a true gentleman. His infectious smile and brilliant sense of humor made him a favorite at every social event.

Lou is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Doris (Lamarche) Lavigne; his two daughters Linda Sirois and her husband Ronald, and Donna Briggs and her fiancé Bill Lucius; his five grandchildren Kristyn Faucher and her husband Christopher, Timothy Briggs, Justin Sirois, Christopher Briggs and his wife Laurin, and Sarah Lucius; his three great grandchildren Eleanor and Margaret Faucher and Kash Daigle; a brother in-law, a nephew and five nieces and their families. He was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother, Donald Lavigne and his wife Annette as well as sister-in-law Annette Lupien.

SERVICES: Funeral Mass to be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Parish, 575 Candia Rd, Manchester, NH followed immediately by burial at the NH State Veteran’s Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH.
