NORTH BROOKFIELD/WORCESTER: Robert A. Perkins, 81, of North Brookfield, died
peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 31st.
He leaves his daughters, Lisa Drennan of Westminster and her longtime partner Louis DeLuca, Sheila Leonard and her husband Dennis of North Brookfield, with whom he lived, and Jill Garry and her husband Robert of Southington, CT. He also leaves his sister, Barbara Chaput, of Worcester, 5 grandchildren: Jennifer, Nicole, Melissa, Aidan and Morgan, 2 great grandchildren: Jailynn and Mason, a niece, Michelle, and her son Marty. He is predeceased by his grandson, Drew Leonard, in 2022. He was born in Worcester, the son of Robert M. and Mabel (Bergstrom) Perkins.
Bob graduated from the former Commerce High School in Worcester. He was a quality control inspector at Norton Co. in Worcester for 33 years, retiring in 1993 to care for his father.
Anyone who knew Bob would agree that he had a great sense of humor, a love for food, and, above all else, a love for animals. He was known as the “animal whisperer”. Squirrels, raccoons, birds, cats, and even skunks flocked to him. They all knew where to get their next meal. He especially loved dogs and enjoyed the companionship of his buddy, Jake, and his black lab, Java. Bob was an outdoorsman who spent much of his time fishing, hunting, hiking, gardening, and camping. His love of nature was immeasurable. Most importantly, he loved his family and was a genuine friend to all. He will be greatly missed!
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 6th at 10 a.m. in the J. HENRI
MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow in
Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 pm. in the funeral home.
