Obituary

WEBSTER - Evelyn V. (Kosakoski) Berthiaume, 88, died Sunday morning, January 29, 2023 in Blackstone Valley Health & Rehab, Whitinsville, after a period of declining health.

She leaves her devoted husband of 40 years, Dennis R. Berthiaume; 2 daughters, Sheryl A. Trabert and her husband John of Sutton, and Paula M. Berthiaume of Webster; a granddaughter, Jessica Berthiaume of Wayne, OK; her sisters-in-law, Theresa and Ingrid Kosakoski; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Francis (2004), Chester (2015) and Edward (2016).

She was born in Webster, the daughter of Francis T. and Veronica (Nezuh) Kosakoski and grew up on Dresser Street and Lake Street. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1952 and then from Becker Junior College.

She was a legal secretary for many years and later helped run the family business, Berthiaume Electric.

Evelyn had many passions, including caring for their horses, painting, and playing the piano. She enjoyed gardening and traveling to the Caribbean and Marco Island. She was a lector and Eucharistic minister at Sacred Heart Parish.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, February 4, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 11:30 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made either to Jewish Healthcare Hospice, 646 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609 whose team cared for Evelyn, lovingly and compassionately or to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 18 East Main St., Webster, MA 01570.
