Obituary

Kathleen Fairweather, of North Reading formerly of Woburn passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 29, 2023 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma. She was 65. Kathleen was the beloved wife of William D. Fairweather and together they shared nearly 44 years married. Born in Lynn, Kathleen was the cherished daughter of the late Nicholas P. and Jean (Healey) Facciolo.

Kathleen was raised in the Central Square section of Woburn. She attended St. Charles Elementary School through grade 9 and was a 1975 graduate of Woburn High School. She met her beloved husband to be in French class while in high school and dated until their marriage on June 30, 1979 at St Charles Church followed by a reception at the Montvale Plaza. Their wedding date was also Kathleen's mother’s birthday and her parents’ anniversary. Following their honeymoon in Hawaii/California/Las Vegas they settled into their first home in Wakefield. Kathleen worked for 45 years as a talented dental assistant with Solomon & Wright Dental of Melrose, where she met and fostered some of her dearest lifelong friendships. When not working and before her children were born, Kathleen and Bill enjoyed traveling to Bermuda and skiing weekends with friends. In 1983 they renovated their grandfather's house in Medford where they lived until 1985. In December of 1985 after their first son David was born, they moved back to Woburn on Blueberry Hill Road and soon welcomed their second son Kevin in 1989. In 1996 they moved again to a home built on Rose Farm Lane in Woburn and resided there until 2021. Kathleen loved to entertain and host birthdays, holidays and get-togethers with friends and neighbors. Throughout her life, Kathleen enjoyed ski vacations, snowmobiling, occasional cruises with her kids, hockey trips across New England, and trips to Aruba. However, some of her most favorite times were spent in Ossipee, NH boating and socializing with friends over a cold Coors Light and mornings with her "Coffee Club" ladies.

Kathy gained two beautiful "daughters", Sarah and Kylie when both of her boys married and gave her three beautiful grandchildren, Kyle, Ava and Jack, whom she was so proud of. Kathy's best job in life was being a mother and nana and she would do absolutely anything for her children and grandchildren up until her diagnosis.

Kathy was a remarkable person and will fondly be remembered for her generosity toward others, her extraordinary love for her family and friends with the amazing ability to tell you exactly what was on her mind and thought you should know.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband William D. Fairweather. She was the devoted mother of David W. Fairweather and his wife Sarah of Woburn, Kevin M. Fairweather and his wife Kylie of Wilmington. Loving nana of Kyle, Ava and Jack Fairweather. Cherished sister of Anthony Facciolo and his wife Susan of Woburn. She is further survived by many loving brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
