Mary Spicer, 73, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, February 3, 2023, at St. Williams Catholic Church, in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Raymond Levreault officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia. A Rosary will be held Thursday evening at 5:30 PM, February 2, 2023, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald. The family will greet friends from 6 PM until 8 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home.
Ms. Spicer was born December 1, 1949, in Merced, California, to the late Joseph & Rose Irene Fernandez Martinez. She retired after 30 years of banking, working for First National Bank, C & S Bank, Nations Bank, and the Bank of Fitzgerald now known as Colony Bank. Ms. Spicer enjoyed shopping, visiting friends and her family. She was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Melissa & Al Sirmans; a son, David W. & Julie Spicer, all of Fitzgerald; two grandchildren: Allison Kay Sirmans & Kaden Richter and Travis Shinholster; two brothers: Henry Martinez and Dennis Martinez, both of Merced, California and a sister, Lorraine Rodenbaugh of Marietta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester L. “Buddy” Spicer.
