Barbara M. (Collins) Lamoureux, 78, of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday, January 28, 2023 after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of the late Arthur ‘Bobo’ J. Lamoureux, with whom she shared nearly 42 years of marriage before his passing in 2009.

Barbara was born in Peabody, MA on April 11, 1944 and was a daughter of the late William Frances Collins and the late Marie E. (Fitzmaurice) Collins. She was raised in Salem, MA, where she attended and graduated from high school before continuing on to Salem State University where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in early childhood education.

For over 35 years, Mrs. Lamoureux taught at the John E. Burke School in West Peabody, MA, where she dedicated most of her career educating second grade children until her retirement in 2001. She adored her grandchildren, treasured vacationing in South Carolina with her husband each year, cruises with their close circle of friends, as well as special vacations she would take with her sister each year. She was an avid reader, loved spending time at the beach, listening to Irish music and attending musicals at the North Shore Musical Theater.

Barbara was a longtime, devout communicant of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury, where, for many years she was a lector, taught and supported the CCD program and was a member of the St. William's Couples Club. Barbara is survived by her two daughters, Carol-Ann Lee of Tewksbury, and Cynthia Lee and her husband, John Kinnon of Tewksbury; her grandchildren, Matthew Kinnon and his spouse, Kimberly of Salem, MA, Justin Lamoureux and his wife, Colleen of Londonderry, NH, Haley Kinnon of Medford, and Emma Lee of Tewksbury; her siblings, Robert Collins of Fremont, NH, and Eleanor Rider of Warwick, RI; and many nieces and nephews.
