Delima (Darcy) "Del" Genard, 104, of Acushnet died January 30, 2023 at Alden Court.
She was the wife of the late Alcide Genard.
Born in Thetford Mines, Quebec, daughter of the late Cesaire and Rose Anna (Lacourse) Darcy, she lived in New Bedford and Acushnet most of her life.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Priscilla Chasse of New Bedford and Florence DesRoches and her husband Conrad of Acushnet; a daughter-in-law, Candice Genard of Fairhaven; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Robert Genard, mother-in-law of the late Phillip Chasse and the sister of the late Rosario Darcy, Eugene Darcy, Omer Darcy, Joseph Darcy and Roseanna Brouillette.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 6th at 10 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church. Please meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Her visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 5th from 2-5 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
