Barbara Claire (Grover) Gorham, 78, a longtime Franklin resident, died January 29 in the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. She was the wife of Mark Gorham.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, July 9,1944, the daughter of the late Fred C. and Mary (Ryan) Grover, Mrs. Gorham was raised in West Roxbury.
Barbara retired in 2000 from the Lumber Mutual Insurance Company in Framingham where she had worked for 20 years, advancing to the role of Assistant Vice President.
Barbara enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and spending time with the grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Jef Hickey of Los Angeles, California and Lisa Fisher of Attleboro. She was the mother of the late Jeremy Hickey.
She was the grandmother of Joshua Gorham of Franklin, Emma Hickey of Clayton, North Carolina, Grace and Hannah Fisher of Attleboro and the late Cody Fisher.
Barbara is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Stover of Holliston and Christina Grover of Bryantville, and the late Linda Stearns and Christopher Grover.
At her request all services will be private.
