Obituary

Lily Summers, 79, of Manchester, NH passed on to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 22nd peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Lily was born in Sparham, England on July 10th 1943, the daughter of Hugh and Ellen (Jones) Mitchell.

Lily worked in Activities at Birchwood Nursing Home for many years. She was loved by the residents, their families, her coworkers and known for her fun, nurturing spirit. She also nannied and cleaned homes for families, some of whom became her most dear friends. To know her was to love her. Her favorite moments were those spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed having tea with loved ones, knitting for her grands, gardening, dancing, playing the organ, fishing on the New England coast and cooking the best British food. You'd most likely find her either crafting beautiful things, making her grand and great grandchildren feel special, helping Wayne at a gem show or fixing up her home in surprising ways. She was full of energy, determination and love.

Lily was predeceased by her parents Hugh and Ellen Mitchell, daughter Maureen McEvoy and great grandson Jameson O’Grady.

Lily is survived by her sweetheart Wayne Hardy, her daughter, Sheila Howley, her husband Jack, her daughter, Leverne Morgan, her son, Raymond Summers, and her son-in-law, Michael McEvoy as well as her beloved grandchildren, Jen Olson, Katy Black, Kimberly Black-Turner, her husband Josh Turner, Amy Anderson, her husband Josh, Mary Howley, Allison O’Grady, her husband Edward, Jay Howley, Kellie Mendenhall, her husband Seth, Cole Summers, Delaney Summers and Hugh Summers, ten great grandchildren and many dear friends. She leaves a large extended family along with more dear friends in England and Scotland.

Lily was strong through long-term health battles. We are proud of the warrior she was and thankful that she is now in Jesus' perfect peace for eternity.
