Obituary


John J. Kinney, 79, died January 25, 2023 at his home surrounded by family following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Chelmsford MA on March 5, 1943 the son of Milton (Mike) Kinney and Arlene (Boutin) Polidori.



He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy, and retired from PSNH as a supervisor at the Central Warehouse.



He was an avid outdoorsman and the only 3-time 1st place Lake Trout winner at the Winni Derby. He loved both ocean and lake fishing, clamming, and hunting. He spent summers at Lake Winnipesaukee with family and friends and enjoyed various fishing trips including Lake Ontario and Alaska. He also loved watching his grandson on the soccer field and basketball court as well as the Red Sox and the occasional outing to the casino.



Family members include his wife of 60 years, Joyce (Nassoura) Kinney of Manchester, one son, John Kinney, and his partner (Frank DiFlorio) of Boston MA., two daughters; Robin Kinney of Manchester, Tracy Kinney and his grandson Ethan Kinney both of Hancock. .



He also leaves behind his brothers; Ronald (Shirley) Jacques, Robert (Marcie) Kinney, Alfred Kinney and his partner (Sandie Gervais), Scott (Martha) Kinney, Francis (Nicole) Kinney, Ronald (Maureen) Kinney, and Mark (Charlene) Kinney; and five sisters, Patricia Puglisi, Diana (Wes) Beckwith, Brenda (Bob) LeClair, Anna (Mark) Corey, Robin Chaisson and sister-in-law Kathy (Bob) Nelson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.



He was predeceased by both of his parents, stepfather Joseph Polidori, his brothers Milton (Mike) H. Kinney Jr., Richard (Rick) Kinney, and his sister Charlotte (Kinney) (Humphrey) Reed.

Calling hours will be on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.



Committal prayers and military honors will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 11 am in the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.



In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 601 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN., 38105.
