Obituary

David J. Dunne, III., 67, passed away on January 24, 2023. He was the husband of the late Margaret A. (Hussey) Dunne.

Born in Pawtucket, RI, son of the late David J. Dunne, Jr., and the late Mary E. (Sweeney) Dunne, he was a longtime resident of Fall River. He was a carpenter for Walpole Woodworkers Corp. for many years.

David was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. His family came first, and he loved them deeply. On any given day he could be found cheering for his grandkids on the sidelines. He was a kind, caring, committed man, who took pleasure in life, a person who always saw the bright side of things. He enjoyed a good laugh and loved being with his family and friends.

An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed disc golf, biking, kayaking, woodworking, rock and roll, his dogs, and photography. An avid cyclist, he participated in the Pan Mass Challenge for the Jimmy Fund many times since his first ride with them in the early 1980s. Dave loved Horseneck Beach and spent many hours walking the beach, collecting sea glass and driftwood, and enjoying the peacefulness and beauty of the ocean.

David was truly one of a kind, and he will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include daughter, Brandi A. Marino of Swansea, three sons, Tavis Dunne and his wife Vania of Fall River, Dylan R. Dunne and his wife Rachel of Winooski, VT, and Kealan C. Dunne of Easton; four siblings: Carolyn Swidrak and her husband Ken of Grafton, Louise Dunn and her husband Tom of Acton, Marybeth Rowland and her husband Chris of Somerset and John Dunne and his wife Paula of Somerset; 11 grandchildren: Logan Potter, Beckam Potter, Bayle Marino, Kylee Davis, Andrew Morgado, Donovan Dzialo, Xavier Dunne, Lillianna Dunne, Liam Dunne, Teagon Dunne, and Avett Dunne, along with many nieces and nephews.
