Myrtice Inez Cannady Young, 92, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Frank Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia, with Pastor Raymond Andrews officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Young was born August 25, 1930, in Berrien County, Georgia, to the late Richard & Lizzie Maye Cannady. She worked for Shaw Industries for 14 years and was also a Certified Nursing Assistant. Mrs. Young loved to dance, fish, ride the lawnmower, ride and listen to country music.
She is survived by a son, Alton Young of Fitzgerald and a daughter, Shirley Hickman of Hawkinsville; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Herman Cannady and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Loyless Young, a son, Thomas Griffin; a daughter, Marcia Powell and a brother, Harold Cannady.
