William A. Brandt Jr. of Taunton, formerly of Stoughton, passed away in Taunton on Friday May 26, 2006. He was 42 years old. He was the beloved son and stepson of Mrs. Judith C. (McCarthy) Rolt and her husband George H. Rolt of Middleborough and the late William A. Brandt Sr.
Born June 19, 1963 in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. Brandt attended Stoughton Public Schools and was a 1981 graduate of Stoughton High School. He was a proud member of the Stoughton High School Hockey Team. After High School, Mr. Brandt attended North Adams State College where he also played hockey and later graduated with a B.A. Degree in Business Administration. After attaining his Teaching Certification from Bridgewater State College, Mr. Brandt was able to start a career as a Math Teacher at the John F. Parker Middle School in Taunton. He was also employed part-time as a bartender by various clubs and restaurants in the Boston area and was also a self-employed carpenter.
Mr. Brandt was an avid hockey player, and enjoyed playing with an over forty hockey league in and around the Taunton area. He was also a proud member of the Senior League “Spoilers” and enjoyed winning a championship with them.
Mr. Brandt enjoyed music of all kinds. He loved to play the guitar and he had a particular interest in antique cars.
Mr. Brandt is also survived by his sister Virginia A. Brandt of Hampton, Virginia, one niece, one nephew, his loving aunt and uncle, several cousins and many loving friends and co-workers.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday June 3, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Trinity Episcopal Church, 414 Sumner Street, Stoughton, with the Pastor Fr. Robert Bagwell and the Reverend Billie Mae Gordon officiating. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. At his families request, visiting hours have been omitted and his interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the John F. Parker Middle School Scholarship Fund, in memory of Mr. William A. Brandt Jr., 50 Williams Street, Taunton, MA 02780, would be appreciated.
