Francisco Bachiller, 58, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 22, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Havana, Cuba, son of the late Roberto Bachiller and Narcisa Rafaela Quevedo Valdez. Brother of the late Sergio Bachiller, Roberto Bachiller and Norberta Bachiller. He grew up in Cuba, graduated high school & left Cuba for the United States in 1996. He lived in Miami then New Bedford for the last 13 yrs.
Francisco worked in various fish houses and manufacturing companies in New Bedford. He loved watching sports, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family.
While quietly battling cancer he still managed to take great care of his family in the U.S. and in Cuba with the fruits of his labor. He was a true provider until his final days and a father figure to many.
Survivors include his daughter, Geidy Guzman Gibert; his brothers, Aurelio Bachiller, Gilberto Bachiller, and Mayito Bachiller; his sisters, Mercedes Bachiller, Dulce Bachiller, Betty Bachiller, and Marlen Bachiller; his niece, Kelsey Bachiller and her husband Nissan Sirjoosignh; his great-nieces, Nyiah and Khalessi Sirjoosignh; his nephew, Roberto Bachiller; his great-niece, Samaria Bachiller; his good friend and caretaker, Karen Barboza; and many immediate relatives in Cuba, Florida, Texas and New Jersey.
Francisco's visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31st from 4-8PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
