Obituary

CHICOPEE – John M. Peloquin, 70, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, January 22, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving wife and sister. He was born in Springfield on August 22, 1952, a beloved son of the late Maurice F. Peloquin, Sr. and Therese M. (Daoust) Peloquin. He was raised in Springfield, graduated from Springfield Trade High School and had moved to Chicopee in 2006 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was employed for many years in the paper industry and had last worked as a Utility Machinist at Hazen Paper in Holyoke. During his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years, playing golf and darts, spending time at the American Legion Post 452 in Chicopee and visiting Cape Cod. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Patricia A. “Pat” (Mailloux) Peloquin, They were married on June 17, 2006 in Chicopee and were blessed with over 15 years of happiness together. He also leaves his “Bonus” daughter, Megan T. Rose and her husband, Gavin, of Holyoke; his three cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Gabrielle and Declan; his two dear brothers, Maurice R. Peloquin, Jr. and his wife, Sylvie, of Springfield and Roger J. Peloquin and his wife, Kathy, of Becket; his two dear sisters, Sr. Jacqueline Peloquin of the Sister of Charity in Saint Hyacinthe, Province of Quebec, Canada and Madeleine L. Carpenter of Springfield; his “Bonus” brother, Greg Gillette of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his dear brother in law, Donald Carpenter; and his beloved mother in law, Therese A. (Branconnier) Mailloux. His family will host a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, Springfield, MA 01104 and a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the American Legion Post 452, 43 Exchange Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. His Burial will be private. His funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
