Frances (Torrey) Borden, 99, of Whitman, died peacefully on January 20, 2023, at the Life Care Center, West Bridgewater after a period of declining health.
A life long resident of Whitman, Frances was born June 15, 1923, to the late Howard F. Torrey and Maud L. (Francis) Torrey.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Borden with whom they shared sixty years of marriage. Richard (Dick) worked for McGrath Oil Company in Whitman as a burner technician and later formed his own company. Frances was his office manager and bookkeeper.
Living most of her married life on Vernon Street, she had many friends through the years and was especially close to her two cousins Phyllis Robbins and Earle Torrey.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.The family is especially grateful to her cousins Jean Finn and Lenette Russo for their care to her in her final years.
A memorial service is planned for the summer.
