FALL RIVER… Frederick J. “Sonny” ”Papa” “Fred” “Hutch” Hutchins, Jr., 78, of Fall River passed away January 20, 2023, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
He has been the companion of Glorie Arruda of Fall River for the past 10 years.
Born in Boston, he was a son of the late Frederick J. Sr. and Alice (Frank) Hutchins. He had been a lifelong resident of the Fall River area.
Sonny was a Welder and Fabricator by trade. He was the owner of the former Hutchins’s & Son in Westport and last worked for Brittany Dyeing and Printing Company in New Bedford. When he wasn’t working, he could be found at Seekonk Speedway.
Along with his companion, survivors include his son: David Sr “Hutch” and wife Christine of Mocksville, NC; his grandchildren: David Jr “Lil Hutch” “ Little Guy”, Justine, Alexia and Max; his sister: Alice Hutchins and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
