Shirley A. Bacchiocchi, 91

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Shirley A. (Lennox) Bacchiocchi, age 91, of Mansfield, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 22, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Elio B. “Al” Bacchiocchi, to whom she was wed for fifty-nine years at the time of his death on November 25, 2012.

Born in Attleboro, MA on April 8, 1931, she was a loving daughter of the late Carson H. and Vera G. (Mills) Lennox.

Shirley grew up in Attleboro, was a 1949 graduate of Attleboro High School and had made her home in Mansfield for the past seventy years. A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Bacchiocchi had also worked as secretary at the former Foxboro Co. in Foxboro.

Shirley was a member of the Mansfield Lodge of Elks and a former longtime member of the Mansfield Band Parents Association. Her life was always centered around her family, especially her grandchildren. Her family will always keep in their hearts the memories she created making ravioli’s at Thanksgiving and her love for reading and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her devoted children: Gail Gillis and her husband Steven of Norton, Paul Bacchiocchi and his late wife Anne of Millis, David Bacchiocchi and his wife Marie of Attleboro and James Bacchiocchi and his wife Caren of Attleboro. She was the cherished grandmother of Christine Eaton and her husband Lance, Michael Gillis, Heather Bacchiocchi, Kevin Bacchiocchi and his wife Kelby, Adam Bacchiocchi, Owen Bacchiocchi and Evan Bacchiocchi. She was pre-deceased by 3 sisters and is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, January 25th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 26th at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.

In lieu of flowers, Shirley’s family has requested that donations in her memory made be made to Our Dailey Bread-Mansfield’s Food Pantry, 15A West Street, Mansfield, MA 02048.
