Obituary

Charlton: Rose Marie (Anderson) Johnson, 88, passed away on January 20, 2023 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus. She leaves a son Scott Johnson, grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert F. Johnson, son David Johnson, brothers Ronald and Roland Anderson, and sister Carol M. Holland and her husband George.

Rose was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Roland and Mary (Roy) Anderson. She graduated from Worcester High School of Commerce and took classes for early childhood education at College. She worked at E.W. Parks Leather Company for 18 years, was an early childhood teacher for 5 years, and was the office manager at the Worcester Masonic Temple for 22 years.

She was a member of Burncoat St. Baptist Church and held many offices in the Christian woman's association there. Rose also served as a youth group leader, deaconess, Sunday school teacher, and sang in the church choir. She loved her life and what she was able to do. However, her love for God and being a child of His is what took her through life.

She enjoyed bowling and loved to roller/ice skate. Her most precious moments were the times she spent with her grandchildren, Lindsey and Thomas. They were the light of her life. In later years she became a great grandmother to their lovely children, Natalie Rose (her namesake), Annastacia and Andrik. She enjoyed seeing them on her digital picture frame every day and watching them grow.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel at the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center on Masonic Home Rd. in Charlton.
