Obituary

Maury (McFee) Davidson, 79, of Derry, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Maury was born on September 14, 1943, in Wichita Falls, TX. She was a daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Brown) McFee. Maury was raised on Grand Island, NY and was educated in Kenmore, NY. She was a graduate of Buffalo State University and received her Master’s degree in education from Antioch University. Maury lived in Londonderry, NH for 24 years prior to relocating to Beaver Lake in Derry, NH 26 years ago. Maury also spent many happy winters at her home at Spruce Creek in Port Orange, FL.

Maury was a teacher for 39 years, 31 of which were in the Derry School system. She adored the students and fellow educators who came into her life throughout those years. She was a very active member of the Londonderry Presbyterian Church, including her role as a Deacon and a passionate member of the choir. Maury volunteered for many years at the Sonshine Soup Kitchen in Derry and was a proud member of the Women of Wine ("WOW's") and Birthday Group's with her dear friends. She lived a life of great adventure and traveled the world. Maury's smile and laugh would light up any room and she will always be remembered for her brilliant mind, her zany sense of humor and her kind heart. She will affectionately be known forever as the “World’s Greatest Grandma”. Maury was a gifted artist. Her happiest places were wherever her family and friends were and watching over the ever-changing landscape of the water at her home on Beaver Lake.

Members of the family include her loving husband of 57 years, William “Bill” Davidson, two daughters and their husbands, Kelly Davidson & Gregg White and Erin & Brad Bokal, eight grandchildren, Billy, Katie, Johnny, Jimmy, Lindsay, Sally, Boden and Harlow, a sister Kathleen McFee and brother Brian McFee.

A Memorial reception was held Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 1pm to 3pm at the Peabody Funeral Home, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH. A Memorial Service was held Monday, January 23, 2023, at 11am at The First Baptist Church, 4 Crystal Avenue, Derry, NH. Burial will be at the NH State Veterans Cemetery at a later date to be determined.
