Ray, Charles M. of Needham and Scituate. January 18, 2023 in his 101st year. Beloved husband of the late Virginia M. (Reilly) Ray. Devoted father of Charles M. Ray Jr. and his wife Beth of Bellingham, Paula J. Wright and her husband John of Landaff, NH, Kathleen Guarino and her husband Louis of Canton, Maureen T. Ray of Needham, Joseph P. Ray and his wife Maria of Scituate and the late Virginia Hasenfuss and her surviving husband George of Braintree. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was the last of 15 brothers and sisters. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Charles was a WWII Army Veteran and a 75 year member of operating engineer of Local 4.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave. Needham, on Tuesday, January 24, at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Bartholomew Church, Needham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Monday, January 23, from 4-8pm. Interment in The Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury.
