Joan A. Rego, 75, of Westport, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Jeanette M. (Kruczek) Rego.
Ms. Rego was born in Fall River and had been a lifelong resident of Westport. She had worked as a bus driver for the Town of Westport for many years and prior to her retirement in 2022, she had worked as a cashier at the Christmas Tree Shop. She was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport where she had taught CCD for many years. Ms. Rego was an avid reader who loved spending time with family.
Survivors include her son: Michael R. Rego and his wife Becky of Westport; her sister: Marilyn Veirling of FL; 3 grandchildren: Elizabeth Vazquez, Damien Rego and Mikhaela Rego; 5 great grandchildren: Leah, Joriel, Marcel, Adriel and Damiel; along with 3 nephews.
She was the grandmother of the late Jaiden Rego and sister of the late Susan Sousa.
A memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, February 10, 2023 at St. George Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be private.
