David J. Brennan, 83

David J. Brennan, age 83, of Stoughton, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at New Bridge on the Charles in Dedham. He was the beloved husband of the late Anita S. (Pietricola) Brennan, to whom he was wed for forty-one years at the time of her death on August 3, 2009.

Born in Oswego, New York on February 28, 1939, he was a loving son of the late Joseph V. and Helena (Williams) Brennan.

David grew up in Oswego, New York and was a graduate of Oswego High School. He continued his studies, graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Union College and later received his master’s degree from Syracuse University.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Brennan worked as a systems analyst at Stone & Webster in Boston and has also been employed at the Polaroid Corporation and for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

David had made his home in Stoughton for forty-six years and was a former communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and a former member of the Stoughton Jaycees. He loved spending time with his family and his hobbies included being an avid golfer, working out at the gym and playing poker.

He is survived by his devoted children: Michael D. Brennan and his wife Chia of Walpole and Dr. Julia M. Camp and her husband Dr. Robert Camp of Mansfield. He was the cherished grandfather of Amanda and Alex Brennan and Anita, Katherine and Danielle Camp. He was the dear brother of Julia Gehring and her husband David of Fairport, New York and is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 25th at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember David with a donation in his memory made to Old Colony Elder Services, 966 Park Street #B1, Stoughton, MA 02072.
