Irene Sullivan, 91, of Derry, NH passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 17, 2023 at VillaCrest Nursing Home in Manchester, NH. Irene was originally from Salem, Massachusetts having graduated from what was once St. Mary’s Commercial High School. Irene moved to the Carolina’s in 1984 and had resided in Little River, SC for 25 years until moving back to New Hampshire to be with family in 2009.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Sullivan, youngest son, Gary A. Tivnan, and sister Elizabeth (Betty) (O’Rourke Welch) Rectanus, and close cousins David and Eleanor Morency. She leaves behind her son, Dana P. Tivnan who resides in Pawtucket, RI; daughter, Paula A. Doucette and husband Michael of Derry, NH, and Theresa H. (Sullivan) Klose and husband Steven of Apex, NC. She leaves behind grandchildren, Jennifer Brennan and wife Kathy of Exeter, NH, Courtney Page and partner Jesse Lavoie of Derry, NH, Vanessa Klose of Apex, NC, Tyson Klose of Apex, NC, Aaron Doucette and wife Melissa of Merrimack, NH, and Lawrence Doucette and wife Jessica of Derry, NH; along with five great grandchildren.
Having been raised by her Aunt and Uncle, Joe and Irene Morency, she also leaves behind very close cousins, Sylvia and Ted Wahl of East Sandwich, MA and Joseph and Pauline Morency of Salem, MA; along with many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews residing throughout MA and NH; as well as close friends all over New England and the Carolina’s.
Following cremation, private services will be held in July 2023. In lieu of flowers, Irene had requested donations be made to her favorite charities: Salesian Missions, 2 Lefevre Lane, New Rochelle, NY 10801, or Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, NE 68010, or one’s favorite charity of choice. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements.
