Robert S. Smalley Jr, 63, of Whitman, passed away on Monday January 16, 2023 after suffering a short period of declining health and two strokes.
“Bob”, a beloved husband to Lynne Randall Smalley, his lifelong partner and best friend. The two had been married for 33 years and were inseparable.
He was survived by his parents, Robert and Eleanor Smalley, of Bridgewater, as well as his siblings Cathy Smalley Robinson, Tom Smalley, Mary Smalley Hagen, Jim Smalley and his youngest sister Julie Smalley Capirchio.
Bob was the loving father to Eric Spring and his partner Emily Sprague, of Bridgewater and Brian Spring and his fiancé Kelly Moore of Quincy.
He was the grandfather to seven wonderful children who called him “Papa”, Eric Spring Jr, Dillon Spring, Jonathan Howland, Anthony Spring, Connor Spring, Layla Spring and Chloe Spring.
Bob was a graduate of the Brockton High School, Class of 1977.
He worked for the famous Peaceful Meadows for over 17 years making ice cream and many memories with all his coworkers.
Bob loved cooking and passed the love onto his children and grandchildren. Everyone always looked forward to Bob's cooking on holidays as it was the absolute best. He took great pride in making his own house a home. If something was broken, Bob would fix it, and make it even better. His witty sense of humor kept everyone laughing.
Services for Bob will be held on Tuesday, January 24th, from 5PM-7PM at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, 666 Plymouth Street (Rte. 58@ the rotary) Whitman, MA 02382, followed by a Eulogy at the closing from his son Brian.
