Monserrate Vanderdys, 79, of Hartford CT passed away January 15, 2023, peacefully at home.
surrounded by loved ones. Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to the late Manuel Vanderdys and Felicita Tevenal. She is survived by her sister Luz Vanderdys of New Bedford, MA. Monserrate was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is predeceased by her beloved son Jose Soto. She is survived by her 6 children, Sam Soto and his wife Martha, Edwin Soto, Evelyn Soto-Terrero and her husband Robert, Rose Soto, Jeannie Soto and her partner Mark and Alex Soto and his wife Elly. As well as 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and beloved friends.
Monserrate always had a pot of coffee and could be found cooking for loved ones and any guests. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and spending time with loved ones. She also enjoyed tending to her numerous plants and loving her birds.
Visitation will be Wednesday January 18, from 4pm-6pm in the chapel of the Hartford Community Funeral Home 380 Maple Avenue, Hartford CT. Private burial for family will be held on a later date.
