Brown of Brockton May 30, 2006, Charles L. Brown, 58 years. Husband of Annette (Bonney) Brown. Father of Steven A. Brown and his wife Natasha (Harriman) of Brockton. Son of Barbara (Hamilton) and the late Charles H. Brown. Brother of Bill and his wife Jeannie Brown of Plymouth, Paul and his wife Paula Brown of Whitman, Barry and his wife Amy Brown of Middleboro, Helen and Robert Brown both of Whitman, Mary and her husband Jim Bowie of Brockton, and the late Stephen Brown. Son in law of Florence Bonney of Brockton. Brother in law of Stanley and Jeri Bonney. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 10 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm.

Obituary

Charles L. Brown died Tuesday morning at his home after a long illness. Born in Boston,the son of Barbara(Hamilton) and the late Charles H. Brown. Mr. Brown was raised in Whitman, attended Whitman schools and graduated in 1966 from Norfolk Agricultural Technical High School. He was employed at the Brockton VAMC until his retirement in 1992 where he was an Orthotics Technician and served as a member on the Washington DC Regional Affirmation and Equal Employment Board. He was a Boy Scout counselor/leader in the 1960’s at Camp Squanto and remained active thru the 70’s.
Mr. Brown was a former captain of the Bridgewater Minuteman & Militia Co., a member of the Massachusetts British 1st Footguards, a co-captain of the Pine Estates Crime Watch and a member of the Brookville Baptist Church in Holbrook. For five years he enjoyed being a cook for two weeks each year in Texas for Mexican bound missionary teams thru his church.
