Obituary

Rita Antoinette Niewiera, 91, of Worcester, MA died peacefully at home of natural causes on January 10, 2023. Born on November 10, 1931 in Worcester, MA daughter of the late Boleslaw and Melania (Lankowski) Niewiera.
She spent her whole life in Worcester receiving her religious formation and sacraments at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Rita was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Salters Secretarial School and Ward Business School. Rita retired after several decades from City of Worcester Public Health Department.
Rita enjoyed family visits and trips with her sister Jane and brother in-law Raymond Gervais and her niece Jane (Gervais) McConnaughey’s family to Michigan, Florida, New York City and overseas to Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany and Luxemburg.
Predeceased by all siblings 5 brothers, John, William, Walter, Alexander, and Chester and 2 sisters Jane (Niewiera) Gervais and Frances (Niewiera) Dauksz. Survived by nieces and nephews, Jane (Gervais) McConnaughey of Ocala, FL, Walter Niewiera Jr. of Worcester, MA and Debra (Dauksz) Kasik of Webster, MA, Tony Dauksz of Oxford, MA and their families.

SERVICES NOW SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 27, 2023

A calling hour starting at 11:00 a.m. immediately followed by a Service of Remembrance to be held at 12:00 p.m. on January 27, 2023 at Henry - Dirsa Funeral Service at 33 Ward Street, Worcester, MA. Burial services will be held at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
