Obituary

Angelo Mucci, 93, of Medway died peacefully, January 13, at the Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester. He was the husband of the late Florence Mattia (Cascio) Mucci, who died in 2021.

Born in Roxbury, April 1,1929, the son of the late Giuseppe and Antoinetta (DiGiovanni) Mucci, Angelo was raised in Roxbury and Dorchester and had lived in Medway since 1965.

In his youth, he played football for the Roxbury Red Raiders.

He worked for the Gamewell Corporation for many years as a maintenance machinist. He also worked for the Anderson Power Company.

Angelo was a member of the Sons of Italy and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing Bocce and going to the Medway Senior Center with his wife.

Angelo served in the Army during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Corporal.

He is survived by his children, Carol Ann Mucci and her husband, Clifton Masdea of West Roxbury and Joseph Mucci and his wife Sue of Medway.

He is also survived by his siblings Italina (Mucci) Steinmetz of Quincy, Salvi Mucci of Scituate, Thelma (Mucci) Ferro of The Villages, Florida, Joy (Mucci) King of Dedham, Maryann (Mucci) Calnan of Brockton and Carol (Mucci) Ferro of Plymouth. He was the brother of the late Gino Mucci, Tony Mucci, Natale Mucci, Romanina (Mucci) Spacco, Camilla Mucci and baby Jaqueline.

Angelo is also survived by his grandsons Gino Vega-Mucci and Danilo Vega-Mucci of Jamaica Plain.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
