Laconia-Richard “Dick”, “Joe”, Edward Sister, 65, of 322 Union Avenue died on Tuesday evening, May 30, 2006 at Lakes Region General Hospital.
Richard was the son of the late Herbert Edward and Leona Mamie (Hamel) Sister. He was born in Laconia on March 25, 1941. A graduate of Sacred Heart School, Richard was a lifelong resident.
Prior to his retirement Richard was employed by New England Telephone as a Toll Test Technician. Honorably serving our country Richard was a Vietnam Army Veteran. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia. He was a member of Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Laconia Post 1670, the American Legion Post 1, the Laconia Lodge of Elks No. 876, and the Laconia Rod and Gun Club. Richard had a true love and passion for music, especially playing the bass for most of his life. He truly enjoyed playing with the band City Limit’s that meant so much to him.
Richard is survived by one son, Robert E. Sister and his fiancée Regan Wood of Breckenridge, CO, two daughters, Michelle Sister of Santa Cruz, CA, and Lauren Sister of Laconia, one sister, Marie Huckins of NC, three grandchildren, Kaci Rose Sister of Breckenridge, CO, Khristopher Guerrin of Belmont, NH, and Cain Knight of Laconia. Richard is also survived by his former wife of 29 years, Mimi Moore of Laconia. Nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive him.
Visiting hours were held on Thursday, June 1, 2006 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia using the Union Avenue Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue Laconia at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Adrien R. Longchamps pastor of the church celebrated the mass. Burial with Military Honors followed in the family lot a Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia.
