Obituary

LOWELL—Raymond J Busby, 73 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Friday morning, August 9th, at his home. He was the husband of the late Eleanor M. (Hamilton) Busby, who died in 1989.

He was born in Lowell, on January 18, 1929, a son of the late William F. and Susanna (Curry) Busby, and was a graduate of St. Peter’s Grammar School and Lowell High School, Class of 1948. He also attended classes at Lowell Technological Institute.

Mr. Busby was employed as an Analyst by Western Electric, in Andover, for over 40 years, until his retirement. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Surviving him are a two daughters and sons-in-law: Eileen and Paul Murphy, of Lowell; and Ellen and Hilbert Nilsson, of Lowell; four grandchildren: Cara and Brendan Murphy and Leagh and Cameron Nilsson; a brother: George Busby, of Dracut; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary and Garrett Quinlan, of Lowell; and Elizabeth and Anthony Cassella, of Lowell; a sister-in-law: Elizabeth Busby, of Lowell; also many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was the brother of the late William F. Busby, Jr.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 PM on Monday, August 12th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). His Funeral Mass to be offered Tuesday, August 13th, at 10:30 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
