Richard Eugene Hood, age 87, passed away January 6, 2023, from natural causes. He was born August 5, 1935, in Bakersfield, Ca. Richard was employed by SoCal Edison for 35 years and, after his retirement from Edison opened, Robin Hood's Jewelry Stores in Ventura and Pine Mountain Club. He was an avid sports fan, having coached baseball teams at Coast Little league and Babe Ruth leagues. Richard also was a member of the Ventura Downtown Merchants and Pine Mountain Club Merchants. Preceded in death by his parents Kimber and Vera Hood, grandson Dustin, and his sweetheart of 64 years Vivian Hood. He is survived by his sons Steve (Sandi) and Glenn, grandchildren Michelle, Kelsey, Amanda, Riley, Brystal and 9 great-grandchildren; also survived by his brother Gary (Nancy) and sister Pam Starkey (Frank) numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 11 at 1:00PM in the BOYKO & REARDON TELEGRAPH ROAD MORTUARY & CREMATION, 15 Teloma Dr. in Ventura, Ca.
