Jerome Joseph “Jerry” Squadrito of Revere, formerly of Malden and East Boston passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on January 10, 2023 at the age of 83. Jerome was born on July 5, 1939 and was the son of the late Jerome and Martha (Giunta) Squadrito of East Boston.

Survived by his brother Thomas Squadrito and his wife Ann of Lynn. Brother of the late Santa Donnarumma and her husband Leonard of Malden, Frank, Vincent and Frances Squadrito of Malden, and Joseph Squadrito of East Boston.

Survived by his nieces and nephews Martha Ferratusco and her husband Vance of Saugus, Denise and Jerome Donnarumma of Malden, Doreen Donnarumma of Peabody, Leonard Donnarumma of Everett, Maryann Richards and her late husband Jim of Kansas, the late Lisa Squadrito of Lynn. Also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

Jerry spent most of his life in the hospitality industry as a bartender. He worked at Bartolo’s in East Boston and for many years at Caruso Diplomat in Saugus. As a bartender, he made many friends and acquaintances along the way and had many colorful stories to tell. He stayed in touch with long-time friend Johnny Russo from his Caruso Diplomat days.

Jerry grew up in East Boston and some of his fondest memories were time spent with his life-long friends from down the corner at Jeffries Point. They stayed in touch with occasional lunch dates at restaurants such as Giacomo’s reminiscing of the old days in the neighborhood.

Jerry lived out the rest of his life as a long-time resident of Revere in his dream ocean view condo on the beach. He enjoyed daily calls and walks on the beach with his closest friends Joe Maggiore and Eddie LaConcha. He watched the food channel and loved to cook crabs, lobster and Chinese dishes at home. He was a big fan of Chinese food and any chance he could, he would grab lunch at the Kowloon and Billy Tse.

For years, Jerry spent winter months in Naples, Florida with his best friends Joe, John (Bar) and Lee Maggiore. He also enjoyed family vacations and travel to exotic islands and cruising to the Caribbean. He loved being invited to join the Borseti family’s vacation to Tuscany, Italy with his niece Denise. Fond memories of fine wine, cheese and sharing laughs with John, Tish, Diane, Michael and their children.

He loved being surrounded by family and friends. We kept the family gathering traditions going by spending Sundays at Martha and Vance’s home. He enjoyed happy hour with Vance, Martha Santa, and Denise all enjoying appetizers, B&B, Captain & Coke, Frangelico, and wine before dinner and watching football. He loved spending time with Anthony, Vanessa, and ‘Lili Baby’. He enjoyed backyard BBQs with family and friends and became a regular at Applebee’s where he often went for a nice cold one on a hot summer weekend with his nephew, Vance.

Visiting hours will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Monday, January 16th from 5:00-7:00pm. A service will be held at 6:30pm during the visitation. Interment will be private.
